At Charlemagne College, our desire is to see Christians flourish in society by contributing to the flourishing of their homes, churches, and communities through the gospel and the riches of the liberal arts and humanities. To that end, we have developed a program of study built on the history, principles, and great ideas of Western civilization.
We believe we are living in a pivotal moment in the history of the West, with many questioning its future. Rather than stand by as spectators, Charlemagne College is doing its part to ensure its preservation and renewal by equipping the next generation in truth, goodness, and beauty. Rooted in Greco-Roman and Christian thought, the West has given rise to enduring achievements in philosophy, literature, theology, and the arts. This is our heritage, and we think it’s worth preserving, cultivating, and passing on to future generations. Hence, our motto: Renascentia Christiana (Christian Renaissance or Rebirth). Above all, we know that Christ our Lord reigns and that His kingdom endures forever.
To instruct students in the Western and Christian traditions, we have developed a comprehensive and rigorous program of study with courses in the liberal arts, humanities, Bible and theology, philosophy, literature, language, and history. Through these courses, our students will learn to think deeply and imaginatively, reason carefully and soundly, write clearly and creatively, debate confidently and convincingly, and live faithfully and magnanimously.
